A feud between Floyd Hatley’s family and Randolph’s was ended when Floyd, the wealthier farmer, handed over to Randolph a hog that Randolph had claimed had been his all along.

To seal the peace, Randolph agreed to let Floyd have the hand of one of his daughters in marriage.

The rest of Floyd’s clan disowned him over his willingness to marry anyone related to Randolph.

However, Randolph never did encourage any of his daughters to see Floyd as anything more than an enemy of the family and only strung Floyd along until his death.

Floyd having died without issue and isolated from his family, Randolph’s son, Ander, entered Floyd’s home intending to live there as a squatter.

Ander soon found how much Floyd had invested in marrying one of his sisters. 

There was a whole wardrobe of women’s clothes, cosmetics, perfumes, jewelry, even a wedding dress and a diamond ring.

Ander chuckled as he slipped the ring on but, after that, was a changed person.

Ander hasn’t been seen since he entered the home of the late Floyd Hatley. 

A beautiful, young-looking woman lives in that home now. 

She often looks glowingly pregnant or is seen to be nursing babies. 

She goes by “Mrs Andrea Hatley” but no one has seen her with a man nor has anyone seen a man approach the home.

If you get folks talkin’ enough, they’ll eventually say in hushed voices that, sometimes, if you walk by the old house when she’s inside, you can hear sounds and phrases coming from that girl’s mouth that would make a crow blush. 

Folks in town also say that she seems not to age and that you wouldn’t know to look at her that she has given birth to any children at all.
