Sarah couldn't believe her boyfriend, Michael, thought his Halloween costume was a good idea. Then again, ever since he caught what everyone jokingly called the "bimbo virus," good ideas seemed scarce
"Come on," Michael said with a grin, striking a dramatic pose. "It's perfect."
Sarah pinched the bridge of her nose. "Perfect for what? Embarrassing me in front of everyone?"
Michael just laughed. His reasoning made a strange sort of sense to him, even if nobody else could follow it. The virus had left him carefree, impulsive, and far less concerned with things like dignity or long-term planning. To him, the costume would get attention, make people laugh, and guarantee a memorable night.
Sarah felt her cheeks warm despite herself. She could not decide whether she was amused, frustrated, or simply exhausted. Sometimes she wondered why she was still the responsible one in the relationship.
Then Michael flashed her his most charming smile.
Unfortunately, that answer was usually enough.
