On the island of Gumgum, the tribe of women ruled with an iron Fist.
Every year, they let men from the other islands come and mate with them for one night, but any men found after Dawn the next day would be put through the trial of the Gum-Gum Fruit.
The Gum-Gum Fruit was toxic to men and could affect them in three different ways.
Two effects were known to men; one was known only to women.
It could kill you, drive you mad, or transform you completely into a beautiful, voluptuous woman.
If the fruit rewarded you by turning you into a beautiful, voluptuous woman, then the women of the island would accept you, and the following year you would join them in their mating ritual with the Men from the other island; if not, you would be sent back to your island, in a canoe, mad or dead.
Captain Swash did not know this when he landed on the island.
The women easily defeated him, and his men ate the fruit.
Several died; a couple went mad; 2 were unaffected; and Captain Swash himself was transformed into a beautiful, reluctant island beauty.
After mating with him, his men were sent back to their ship by boat, with a warning to anyone who found them to leave the island and its women alone.
One island.
One Fruit.
One night of sex.
9 months of pregnancy.
