I was a man, and I was 35 years old.

I worked in the warehouse at a local retail department store.

We're not at work, I played video games, foot, and drank with the land.

Then the great shift happened and I wound up in he pregnant woman's body.

After shock, depression, and denial, I accepted what had happened to me.

Pregnancy was a nightmare.

I was big, I was home,e comfortable, I was hot, and I was not happy.

I'm terrified about giving birth, and I have no know what to expect.

After a couple of birthing classes, I was more terrified and more confused.

Luckily, my sister stepped in at he last moment and became my birthing coach.

After my water broke, I was in labour for seven and a half hours.

It was the most excruciating, uncomfortable, sickening, and disgusting thing I'd ever done in my life, pushing out that baby.

But then it's I held it in my arms, all the pain, the heartache, and the anguish away.

Whatever was left of my old male self was washed away in a sea of female hormones and mothering instincts.

Postpartum was uncomfortable and horrible.

My vagina ate I was bleeding constantly and it was painful to pee.

On top of being uncomfortable and in pain myself, I had to take care of the baby.

That was a lot of sleepless nights, nappy changing, and warnings that I was doing something wrong.

But the more I did it the more it became easier.

Before I knew it, it was like doing it on autopilot.

Breastfeeding, nappy changing, washing, cleaning taking care of everything was just second nature now.

I became happy in my new life and became happy in my new self.

I never would have chosen to become a woman, get pregnant to give birth, and become a single mother, but now that I am one, I never want to give it up.
