Missionary Michael stood in the cold water of the mountain stream.
he wished he had paid more attention to the local customs and traditions of this island when he first came.
He wished he had not broken his vows of celibacy with a native girl.
He wished when she came to him telling him that she was pregnant he had not turned her away.
He wished he had been more helpful and sympathetic and had take care of her.
But now it was far too late to do anything about it.
As the local witch doctor had performed a ceremony which had turned him into a woman and transferred the baby from her to him.
