Danny, 31, thought he was going for a standard X-ray, but was confused when he was asked to stand in a machine that didn't look like any X-ray machine he had seen before.
The operator flipped the switch, and he saw a bright pink glow emanating from the metal coils inside the glass frame.
It made his body tingle and twitch.
It wasn't comfortable, but it wasn't painful.
It was a bit disconcerting.
When the operator flipped the switch a second time, he noticed that his clothes and his body had changed.
It turned out there was a miscommunication between his doctor and the technicians, and instead of taking him for an X-ray, they took him for a full body modification.
It would be eight and a half months before his body would be settled enough to go through the procedure again.
He was horrified and terrified about being a woman for eight months. It was scary, terrifying, uncomfortable, yet eye-opening.
At the end of the eight months, he was called back in for his procedure.
He was not sure he wanted to go through with it and become a man again.
