Escaping into the past.

Michael was thoroughly enjoying his new life as a Victorian lady. Although he had no control over his life, his fate, or whom he would marry, and despite the uncomfortable, heavy clothing, he found it to be a better life than the one he had left behind.  He was willing to accept marrying a man and having a child if it meant he could avoid work and simply embody the role of a delicate, beautiful woman.
