17-year-old Jack's life was an unhappy one.
His mother was an out-of-work alcoholic who barely scraped enough together to get the bills paid.
They were forced to rent a room in an old house, which was haunted.
Jack started hearing strange noises and voices at night.
He wondered if he was going mad.
Then the ghost appeared to him.
Jack, terrified but curious, stood there and said hello to the ghost.
It turned out the ghost used to be a wealthy man who was murdered by his children for their inheritance.
He told Jack he had seen how he lived and how unhappy he was.
He offered Jack a solution to his problems.
He offered to possess his mother's body, turn her life around, make her a success, and give him a happy and balanced home life.
Jack smiled at the Ghost and said If you can, I would be forever grateful.
The next morning, Jacka awoke thinking the night before was just a dream, that was until he walked downstairs and found his mother not her usual hungover mess.

They lived in a big house.
His mum was rich thanks to a good marriage to an old, rich man.
