After 22 years in a wheelchair unable to move 42 year-old Alan was over the moon when he was selected to undergo an experimental surgery which if it worked would give him back his life and freedom.
The surgery was a complete success and after 6-months of rehabilitation he was walking talking and doing stuff he never thought he would do again.
He was so happy to be out of his crippled body not even the fact that he was now a young woman could spoil it.
