He was sent to the darkest regions of peru where he never came back from.
He spent several months living with the Korubo tribe learning about the herbs plants and berries they used in there medicine and religious rituals.
There was one plant that fascinated him.
It seemed to do the most remarkable things but the Elders would not tell him about it and he was forbidden to even go looking for it on pain of death.
But he just could not resist and one night he snuck off by himself.
He thought it would be hard to find but to his astonishment it seem to be growing everywhere around him.
Like a child in a candy shop he could not resist plucking some from the trees and devouring its bitter sweet fruit.
Nothing happened at first but the more he ate of the fruit the more he needed to eat.
He was so engrossed in what he was doing that he did not notice that he was transforming into a beautiful young tribes woman.
When daylight broke and he was found by some of the tribes men he was not put to death for his sacrilege.
He was given to the tribe's elders as there new concubine which to him was a fate worse than death.
