As a crop sprayer covered him in some chemical that made his skin itch and burn.
He fell to the ground riving in agony as his skin seemed to bubble up & melt.
When he came to his head was spinning and he thought he must have passed out as he was nown lying on the cold hard ground.

Who contacted exophoric chemicals the company that practically owned the entire town and were doing top secret chemical tests on food crops which they wanted to keep top secret.
So they immediately rushed out a collection team and that was the last time Jake was ever free.
