It wasn't the fact that he did not have a date that was putting him off.
It was the fact that he was now a teenage girl thanks to the great shift & was now going to have to go in a frock and high heels looking like a girl.
Which was something he had not done since becoming a girl despite his mother's best efforts he still wore baggy jeans and oversized t-shirts & never did anything with his appearance.
But now standing in front of the mirror with shaved legs and armpits makeup on his face and sweet smelling perfume on his body staring at the frock his mother had bought him for the occasion he was not sure he could do it and his mother had to practically push him out of the house and into the car making him go.
And despite saying to himself that he was not going to enjoy himself when his mother picked him up five hours later she could tell that he had enjoyed himself as he stood outside the school gym hall talking with a load of other girls and arranging to meet up on the weekend to go shopping which really made her happy as she beeped her horn to let him know she was there.
