He did not want to tell him.
He just wanted to ignore the facts.
But he knew Richard had a right to know.
He was just frightened of how he was going to take it.
So as they walked home from work together he just blurted out:
Richard was shocked and asked Thomas are you sure I'm the father.
Thomas felt a little bit insulted and just looked at him and said yes you're the only man I have slept with.
Richard just looked at his friend thinking back to the night they both got drunk and screwed each other's brains out.
Richard looked at Thomas and said ok so I'm going to be a daddy.
Thomas just looked at the happy smile on his friend's face and thought to himself maybe we can make this work.
