So when his friends bet him $200 to spend the night in that toilet cubicle on the night she died he accepted thinking it was just an urban legend.
But when he awoke the next morning as a young woman in a filthy prom dress he knew there was definitely something wrong especially when he saw in front of him his own body leaving the cubicle.
He was unaware that he had just swap bodies with a ghost and he was now trapped there until somebody else would spend her death night there.
How can you switch bodies with something disembodied?

Deletebut you are never allowed to leave and nobody else can see you as know you are outside the human conscious as ghosts exist outside our reality on the ethereal plane where they have physical form.
So when they break through to our reality they can possess takeover or swap places with us.
